AHSC #101

Hi to you all. We have a new sketch at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  I hope you will join us. If you need some inspiration, check what the rest of our design team created.

For this card I used a digi stamp from Aurora Wings - Floral Collection called Oriental Poppy.
I colored it with Copic markers. It was quite a challenge. I think it took me around 2 hours to finish it. Copic reds are well known to easily turn in a hot mess, if you mix too many of them. Ask me how I know that, lol. I used one orange and 4 reds on the poppies.

I didn't want to take away from the flowers, so I kept the rest of the card simple. The red background paper is from CTMH, as is the sentiment stamp (Floral Happiness) which I adore.

I'm entering this card to the following challenges:
Aurora Wings - Challenge 13 (everything goes)
Love to Scrap! - two of something

Thank you for stopping by.

As always Michelle created a great sketch for us.

For this card I used only three colors of cardstock. Background paper was stamped with the Geometric Backgrounds Flair in the Versamark ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
For the sentiment I used one of the You Mean the World to Me stamps. I cut out the banner, colored it with markers and raised it with foam adhesive. Cut outs were made with the Artbooking Cricut cartridge. Flowers and  hemp are also from CTMH.

 A little tidbit...
I remember the first time that I participated in AHSC, it was sketch #9. Afterwards I did a sketch every now and then, but from the sketch #19, I never missed a week.

Thanks for stopping by.

AHSC #99

Happy Wednesday everybody, we are half done with this week! I would like to show you the card I made for this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. It's the 99th!
Don't forget to check what the rest of our design team created.

The other day I was cleaning out the closet where I keep 12x12 papers, because there is always something that I forgot that I bought. I found the leftovers from the Skylark paper pack and decided to make a card with it.
Birds are from the Happy Birds stamp set, which I colored with Distress markers.
I stamped the word "happy" on the pattern paper and cut out the letters. The same word was also stamped on the paper, to guide me where to adhere the letters.
The zig-zag circles are cut out from Cricut using the Artiste cartridge.

Thanks for stopping by.

Holly Jolly #43

Good morning and happy Tuesday everybody. It is time for the new challenge at Holly Jolly.

It is Stitching. Faux or real.

Our sponsor this time are The Stamping Boutique, Odd Ball Art and Crafty Sentiments Designs.

For this card I used the image from The Stamping Boutique called Snowfriends, which is beyond adorable. I had so much fun coloring it.
Decision to use a sewing machine came after I couldn't find a square die with a faux stitching around it. Now that machine is out in the open I hope I'll use it more often.
After the card was assembled it looked a bit plain, so I sponged some gesso to the edges of the papers.

Papers are from Maja Design and the die is from Magnolia Doohickey. Sentiment stamp is from CTMH.

Thanks for stopping by.

i {heart} Card Sketches #100

I'm so late at entering my card for the sketch challenge at From the Heart.
This is their 100th sketch challenge. What a great accomplishment.

I used the digi from their stamp of the month called Easter Trio. Of the three images, I chose the daffodils, because  I love coloring flowers. They are so challenging and they really make me pay attention. I will use the other two images for some other Easter cards.
Papers are from My Mind's Eye - Mandarina Collection.
The funny this is that I just figured out that I put the background paper on the wrong way.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hello everybody.
Here in NYC winter is not letting go. Looks like everyone talks about the weather. It's ugly outside, with a possibility of some serious snow tonight. We had snow on Sunday!!
That's why I needed to make a card with some spring vibe.
This is the one I made for this week's challenge at Atlantic Hearts. We are at the number 97.

Papers used are some leftovers, so I don't know the name of the manufacturer. Sentiment stamp is from Simon Says Stamp. The heart stamp is called Blooming Heart is from CTMH.
It's so adorable. I colored the flowers with Copic markers.

Thanks for stopping by.
